Corn Farm Devauden nr Chepstow
Corn Farm is a large replacement dwelling set into its rural steeply sloping topography. Gareth Davies has taken forward Hall + Bednarczyk’s original consented design and amended it to suit the Clients’ requirements whilst keeping faith to the original concept.
The house provides over 600sq.m of accommodation over 3 floors with a large portion of it within a basement that pops out of the ground on the downward slope. Consisting of 5 bedrooms, lounge, cinema room, study, kitchen, utility, boot room and large dining entrance space above a basement devoted to heath and relaxation with a swimming pool, hot tub, gymnasium and plant.
The house is clad in red sandstone with timber panels and a zinc roof and is planned as a low energy carbon neutral dwelling with borehole ground source heat pumps, whole house ventilation with heat recovery and an extensive array of solar panels and batteries on a newly built nearby agricultural shed. It has started on site with an anticipated completion in late 2026.
