Rowan House, Bridgend Road

Penyfai, Bridgend This new build house stemmed from the publications of L’Atelier in magazines. The client had a small plot with a dense tree screen to the adjoining road and where the major aspect was. He desired living spaces that could capture as much daylight as possible, given the close presence of trees. The L’Atelier ‘upside down’ approach was therefore a solution to this, opening up the roof space and exposing the roof structure. The master bedroom was also located in a wing off the main living space utilising combined roof/wall windows again to maximise daylight.
